Jeevan Bheema Yojana Release Date: Arshad Warsi’s Double Role Comedy Finally Hits Theatres

Jeevan Bheema Yojana Release Date: A good con needs perfect timing — and so, apparently, does releasing a movie about one. After a week-long delay, Jeevan Bheema Yojana — now retitled Jeevan Ya Bheema Con? — has arrived in cinemas, bringing Arshad Warsi’s first-ever double role to the big screen in a dark comedy built entirely on one catastrophic decision spiraling out of control.

Quick Info: Jeevan Bheema Yojana Release Date

Why The Release Was Pushed Back

Originally slated for August 28, the film’s release was postponed by exactly one week, with representatives citing the need for additional time to complete the final leg of its marketing and publicity campaign. A new poster accompanied the announcement, and just days before the rescheduled premiere, the film underwent a more unusual change: a full title switch from Jeevan Bheema Yojana to the punchier Jeevan Ya Bheema Con?, sharpening the film’s comedic, twist-driven identity right before release.

What Is The Film About?

At its center is Jeevan, a debt-ridden everyman whose life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Bheema — a stranger who happens to be his exact lookalike, but who’s entangled in a dangerous criminal underworld. Drowning in financial trouble, Jeevan and his resourceful wife Yojana, played by Sanjeeda Shaikh, hatch a plan almost too clever for its own good: fake Jeevan’s death, use Bheema as the body, and collect the life insurance payout.

Naturally, nothing goes according to plan. The couple’s scheme spirals into chaos once they discover Bheema was connected to diamond smuggling — and his dangerous associates come looking for answers. Director Abhishek Dogra has described the film as being about ordinary people making one extraordinary, catastrophic decision, then spending the rest of the story paying for it.

Arshad Warsi’s Career-First Double Role

For Warsi, this marks his first-ever performance in a dual role, playing both the anxious, debt-ridden Jeevan and his more dangerous doppelganger, Bheema. Dogra has praised Warsi’s ability to bring both characters to life with a precision that reportedly surprised the crew throughout filming — a distinction crucial to a plot built entirely around mistaken identity.

Early Reception

Early reviews have been mixed, with some critics noting that despite the strong comic instincts of Warsi, Vijay Raaz, and Brijendra Kala, the film’s execution doesn’t always match the promise of its premise.

Where To Watch

Jeevan Ya Bheema Con? is now playing in theatres worldwide in Hindi, with availability across IMAX, Dolby Atmos, and standard multiplex screens.

Whether audiences fall for its chaotic con or not, one thing’s certain: Warsi’s first double role has finally made it to the big screen — delay, title change, and all.
