Apple’s iPad Mini 7: Everything you need to know

Among the most widely used iPads available is Apple’s iPad mini. It’s the ideal iPad for reading, traveling, taking notes, and more because of its small form factor. Nevertheless, frequent updates and interesting new features are not possible due to its small size and inexpensive price. Consequently, it has been almost three years—since late 2021—since we have received a new iPad mini!

Ultimately, though, there are now some serious rumors circulating about a brand-new iPad mini 7, which may be released as early as the end of 2024. However, what features and price will this next iPad mini have? When is it going to be made public?

A 2023 rumor states that Apple plans to slightly modify the iPad mini’s display to reduce “jelly scrolling.” The purpose of rotating the screen assembly is to lessen the impact when using the iPad mini in portrait orientation.

Jelly scrolling is the term for observable lag in vertical scrolling across text-based content, such as a webpage. As a line moves across the screen, it seems to lean downhill toward the left, giving the impression that one side of the display is responding more quickly than the other. Apple claims that this is typical behavior for LCD iPads, but they still wish to adjust things to lessen the impact.

We anticipate that the iPad Mini 7 will not receive a Mac chip this year, but the iPad Pro and iPad Air do have M-series chips. Apple is most likely to choose an alternative A17 variation, such as the A17 Pro found in the iPhone 15 Pro models.

Right present, the iPad mini is offered in space gray, starlight, pink, and purple. New colors are definitely possible because Apple frequently upgrades its color selections. Apple did away with pink with the iPad Air, which is a lot like the iPad mini.

A new iPad Mini 7 from Apple is probably coming out in September or October, close to the end of the year. Every October, Apple hosts a special event for Macs and iPads.
