Apple’s most accessible iPhone just got a serious upgrade. The iPhone 17e is officially here, launching in India with the A19 chip, MagSafe support, 256GB base storage, and Apple’s faster C1X modem — all at ₹64,900. Pre-orders open March 4, sales begin March 11.

What’s Actually New Over the iPhone 16e
Three upgrades stand out. First, MagSafe finally arrives — the iPhone 16e’s biggest missing feature is fixed, unlocking the full ecosystem of magnetic accessories and boosting wireless charging from 7.5W to 15W. Second, base storage doubles from 128GB to 256GB with no price penalty for that capacity jump. Third, the C1X modem is up to 2x faster and more power-efficient than the C1 in the 16e.
The A19 chip is the same silicon as in the standard iPhone 17, albeit with a 4-core GPU instead of 5-core — close enough in performance for everyday use, gaming included. The iPhone 17e also includes Apple’s N1 chip for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a first for the e-series. Satellite connectivity — Emergency SOS, Messages via satellite, Crash Detection — rounds out a spec sheet that leaves very little unaddressed at this price.
The ₹5,000 increase over the iPhone 16e’s launch price is offset by the storage upgrade, making the value proposition genuinely strong. As TechnoSports has noted, Apple has effectively addressed every major criticism of the 16e in a single generation.
