Apple has expanded availability of its innovative 40W Dynamic Power Adapter to several new countries, bringing faster charging capabilities to more iPhone users worldwide. The compact charger delivers up to 60W in short bursts while maintaining the same size as Apple’s standard 20W adapter.

Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter: Availability & Pricing

Region	Countries	Price	Plug Type
Initial Launch	US, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, Philippines	$39 (US)	Two-prong
New Expansion	UK, Ireland, UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia	Varies by region	Three-prong Type G
India	Not yet available officially	Import only	–

The new Type G variant features a three-prong folding design specifically for markets using UK-style outlets, expanding the adapter’s global reach significantly.

Why This Charger Stands Out

Despite being identical in size to Apple’s 20W charger, the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter delivers double the sustained power output. The secret lies in USB-C Power Delivery 3.2 with SPR AVS (Standard Power Range Adjustable Voltage Supply) technology, which intelligently adjusts voltage for optimal charging speeds.

The adapter provides 40W sustained charging but can dynamically burst up to 60W for rapid top-ups. This makes it perfect for iPhone 17 models, which reach 50% charge in approximately 20 minutes, while the iPhone Air achieves 50% in around 30 minutes.

Compact Design, Maximum Power

Apple’s engineering achievement here is impressive—packing 40-60W charging capability into a pocket-sized adapter that’s smaller than most competitors’ 30W chargers. The folding prongs (on both variants) make it even more travel-friendly, though thermal limitations mean the 60W bursts only last briefly before throttling back to 40W.

The adapter works with all USB-C enabled devices, including iPads, MacBooks, and even non-Apple products, making it a versatile charging solution for tech enthusiasts with multiple devices.

India Availability Status

Unfortunately, the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter isn’t officially available on the Apple India website yet. Indian users currently face limited options: import through third-party platforms like Desertcart (with customs duties included) or use alternatives like Apple’s 67W MacBook charger, which supports fast charging but lacks the compact form factor.

Apple hasn’t announced when the adapter will launch in India, though the global expansion suggests more markets may follow. For now, the standard 20W adapter remains the official option for most Indian iPhone users.

Should You Wait or Import?

If you prioritize maximum charging speed and portability, importing might be worthwhile despite higher costs. However, Apple’s 35W Dual USB-C adapter (available in India at ₹4,900) offers a practical alternative with two ports, though it charges slightly slower.
