‘Apple 2023 iPhone’ to report Under Display Face ID: Is it true?

Rumors are surfacing with a claim where Apple is planning to adopt the latest display technology for its 2023 iPhone lineup. A new report has revealed that the company will include Under Display Face ID systems starting from the future iPhone lineup.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo exposed that the latest iPhone 2023 will be equipped with the new technology, which will pull out the necessity of the notch on the company’s smartphones. Kuo said also added, the latest under-display Face ID systems will reveal along with the new periscopic telephoto lens in 2023. The analyst states that the Cupertino-based giant will abandon the design of the notch for the punch hole for a minimum of some of the 2022 iPhone lineup.

Apple 2023 iPhone to feature Under Display Face ID: Kuo - Gizmochina

At first, the Face ID builds an appearance with the iPhone X, with the notch that mainly providing its purpose to house the TrueDepth camera system. It has been reported that the company would launch the iPhone 14 with a 48-megapixel camera sensor. Kuo also revealed that a minimum of one of the high-end iPhone models in 2023 will be manufactured with no notch and a full front screen body. The analyst has not mentioned yet that an under-display Face id and the Touch ID will be offered in a single device or not. It is also unknown that the features will be exclusive to the higher-end models or not.

For the people who are unaware, the adaptation of the under-display fingerprint scanner has been rumored for a while now. Undoubtedly, it is one of the first references of the iPhone maker to offer an under-display facial recognition system. From a technological view, it seems to require more latest and advanced technology to manufacture an under-display Face ID, it is expected that the TrueDepth camera system will be able to read and also recognize the faces through pixels on the display without any deformation.
