‘Anarth’ Is Prime Video’s Most Chilling Horror Series Yet

Some horrors don’t announce themselves loudly. They press down on your chest in the dark — silent, patient, and inevitable. Amazon Prime Video has dropped the first teaser for Anarth — a supernatural psychological horror series starring Kalki Koechlin, Gulshan Devaiah, and Preeti Panigrahi — introducing Boba, a shadowy figure that preys on lonely or scared children. And the chilling tagline? “All You Have Is 6 Nights.”

What Is Anarth About?

Anarth tells the story of a motherless child and a childless mother who are forced to confront their grief when a sinister presence called Boba threatens to silence them forever. FRVR

The first images from the series focus on a young girl played by Preeti Panigrahi who appears to be experiencing disturbing visions of a shadowy male figure — with the child describing a chilling sensation of pressure on her chest, as if an unseen weight is bearing down on her.

What makes Anarth stand apart from conventional horror is its emotional core. This isn’t just a story about a scary creature — it’s a story about grief. Two women connected by an invisible thread of loss, both vulnerable in different ways, both being hunted by something that feeds on that vulnerability. That’s genuinely terrifying on a psychological level.

Why This Cast Makes It Unmissable

Kalki Koechlin and Gulshan Devaiah are two of Indian cinema’s most fearless performers — consistently gravitating toward projects that push creative boundaries. The series positions Anarth as a psychological horror drama that blends supernatural elements with a deep exploration of loss, fear, and childhood vulnerability. VPEsports

The project comes from Emmay Entertainment — the same house behind The Revolutionaries and Storm — produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani. This production house’s track record of building atmospheric, character-driven stories is a genuine signal of quality here.

Parambrata Chattopadhyay — one of Bengali cinema’s most respected actors — and Sumedh Mudgalkar of RadhaKrishn fame round out an ensemble with extraordinary range, making every supporting role count.
