Akanksha Chamola Gets Real About Love, Loss, and Finding Herself on Lock Upp 2

Reality TV often becomes a space for raw honesty, and Akanksha Chamola just used it to open up about one of the most personal chapters of her life. On Lock Upp 2, the actress and estranged wife of TV star Gaurav Khanna confirmed her ongoing divorce and shared how the experience has reshaped her understanding of herself — including her sexuality.

Akanksha Chamola: Key Takeaways

Speaking with fellow contestant Varun Yadav inside the house, Akanksha addressed her future and made it clear that marriage isn’t on her radar right now. She explained that sexuality isn’t fixed — it evolves — and that she currently identifies as asexual, describing this phase as one where she doesn’t feel a desire for physical intimacy with either men or women.

Akanksha, who married Gaurav Khanna in 2016 at the age of 24, spoke about wanting to fully embrace independence for what she says is the first time in her adult life. She expressed contentment in her current state, saying she no longer feels the need for a partner and is looking forward to building a home and life on her own terms.

This isn’t the first time she’s opened up on the show about her identity — she had earlier described a past chapter where she identified as bisexual, noting that she found comfort and safety in connections with women during that period. Discussions like these reflect the wider, evolving conversation around the sexual orientation spectrum, which experts note can shift for individuals over time and across life stages.

On the marriage itself, Akanksha revealed that she and Gaurav had already been living separately for about a year before she entered the show, with differing views on parenthood — his desire to become a father versus her decision that motherhood wasn’t a path she wanted — cited as a major point of divergence. Despite the separation, the two have maintained mutual respect, with Gaurav even visiting the show to address the speculation around their split directly.
