Latest rumours indicate that Nvidia is planning to launch its two new high-end SKUs. We already know that the production of GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 has had a bumpy ride. But the latest leak indicates that the green team is looking forward to reviving the lineup for its major reveal which will come at CES 2021.
But let’s not get optimistic just yet. We have already seen the company cancelling most of the cards which were already teased in its roadmap, but the rumours this time sound legit. It is being claimed that RTX 3070 might feature a new GA103 GPU. As for the 3080 SUPER, the specifications are not known. The only thing known is that the Super variant will have more memory than the original 3080.
As for the rumoured info, the RTX 3080 is expected to feature 12-16 GB VRAM while the RTX 3070 also had been expected to feature similar VRAM amounts. From where it stands we can picture NVIDIA to feature 16 GB of GDDR6(X) memory on both, the RTX 3080 SUPER (GDDR6X) & the GeForce 3070 SUPER (GDDR6). Rumours also indicate that the GeForce RTX 3070 SUPER is expected to utilize the GA103S GPU while the GeForce RTX 3080 SUPER would retain its GA102 GPU.
Another concern is that, whether Nvidia will keep the prices lower than the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 or it would be higher. But considering the two SKUs are supposed to be the high-end versions, the green team might be planning big for the lineup. For more info, stay tuned.
