AMD will probably end the production of its Radeon RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6800 reference models by the end of Q1 of 2021

Advanced Micro Devices has released its RDNA-2 based Radeon RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6800 cards. But the company has earlier announced that it will soon end the production of RDNA-2 cards as they will only be a once-off release product. However, the manufacturer soon retracted its statement saying that it will extend the production of its Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6900 graphics cards due to popular demand.

AMD launched its Radeon RX 6900 and RX 6800 series reference models directly through OEMs, AIBs, and even by itself. But it wanted to make the reference models the last of their batch. So the retailers and OEMs were left with the lingering fear of not having enough cards to meet the market demand.

But the recent announcement from AMD comes as a relief to both the vendors and buyers as the popularity of AMD’s big Navi series is incredibly high. It was only fair for the manufacturer to increase the rate and duration of its production. AMD has now confirmed that the reference model will be produced through early 2021.

The company expects that around the same time; the global supply will get better for AMD. The purchase of Radeon RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT & the RX 6800 graphics cards needs to be done soon. There’s no telling when we will see the last reference model sell out given the huge demand.

AMD is preparing to end the production of its reference models soon in the coming months; it indicates that the manufacturer has custom models ready for its RDNA-2 cards and is most likely of the market’s best quality. It will be interesting to see what the company has up its sleeve to take on its rival Nvidia.
