Apple reportedly plans to increase the size of its high-end iPhones, according to MacRumors. The Pro Max will be 6.9 inches (up from 6.7 inches) while the iPhone 16 Pro will be 6.3 inches (up from 6.1 inches). Despite the fact that the iPhone 16 Pro versions will have larger screens, the screen border is getting thinner.

Weibo leakers from China, including UniverseIce and Instant Digital, have verified tidbits regarding the dimensions of the bezels of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max rumored dimensions

The iPhone 16 Pro has the same thickness as the iPhone 15 Pro (8.25 mm), but it measures 71.45 mm in width and 149.6 mm in height. With a 1.2 mm smaller screen border, the display measures 6.3 inches larger than the iPhone 15 Pro’s 6.1 inches. It weights 194 grams, which is a little bit more.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max

The 16 Pro Max is rumored to be the largest iPhone ever, and now we have the (purported) precise measurements from trustworthy leaker Ice Universe to support that claim.

It is reported that the largest premium iPhone of this year will be 163.024 x 77.575 x 8.26 mm or 6.42 x 3.05 x 0.33 inches. The iPhone 16 Pro Max feels similar in width and depth but is substantially taller. The dimensions of the iPhone 15 Pro Max are 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.25 mm or 6.29 x 3.02 x 0.32 inches.

The bezels surrounding the 16 Pro Max’s display virtually disappear, as suggested by earlier rumors that Apple is employing a manufacturing process called Border Reduction Structure. All four versions of the new Pro Max, according to IU, will have 1.153mm bezels around them; 2.146mm if you count the width of the side rails.

When we compare the dimensions of Apple’s and Samsung’s newest devices, we should be able to clearly distinguish between them. IU reports that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra measures 1.55mm and 3.38mm, respectively.

So, in this launch event we can expect to get a bigger display iPhones with added AI functionalities.
