The Upcoming Google Pixel Fold 2
@OnLeaks unveilied the 360-degree video and detailed renders of Google’s to-be-released foldable device the Pixel Fold 2. These visual representations showcase the phone in a gray hue called Charcoal displaying its unfolded form featuring a spacious 7.9-inch main screen that expands to 8.1 inches when considering the edges.
The functional components are thoughtfully positioned, with the USB-C port, speaker grille, microphone, and SIM card tray placed on the edge while the power and volume buttons can be found on the side. At the top, you’ll notice antenna bands and an additional speaker grille contributing to its look. The dimensions of the phone are 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.27 mm.
One standout aspect is the under-display camera setup located at the corner of the main screen along with a new sensor integration. The external cover screen measures, around 6.4 inches and extends to 6.6 inches when including its corners; it also features a punch-hole camera positioned at its center. When you fold the device it’s 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.54 mm, in size.
The Pixel Fold 2 comes with screens than its version making it slightly larger overall but thinner. On the back, you’ll find a camera setup neatly placed in a module with two small pill-shaped cutouts, for different sensors.
Internally, the Pixel Fold 2 is anticipated to run on the Tensor G4 SoC, offering up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is expected to debut with Android 14, with a promise of seven years of software updates akin to the Pixel 8 series. The unveiling is speculated to occur at the I/O 2024 event scheduled for June 27, 2024.
