Since its introduction in 2021, the Mahindra XUV700 has been the company’s best-selling SUV. Along with its tremendous popularity, it has a lengthy waiting list that has lasted over a year. The manufacturer has gradually increased production of the XUV700, resulting in a shorter waiting period. The wait time for Mahindra’s best-selling SUV has been lowered by 3-4 months. Despite this, there is a lengthy waiting period.

Mahindra XUV700 SUV’s wait time has been lowered by up to 6 months for the top-spec AX7 and AX7L petrol and diesel variants.

They currently have a maximum wait time of 8-9 months. Meanwhile, the waiting period for the entry-level MX and AX3 petrol trims has increased by 2 months. They are now subject to a 4-month waiting period. The wait time for diesel variants has been cut by around six months.

The typical wait time for the mid-spec AX5 trim is 6 months. The wait time difference between petrol and diesel models has also narrowed. The Mahindra XUV700 starts at Rs 14.01 lakh and goes up to Rs 26.18 lakh ex-showroom.It competes with 5- and 7-seater SUVs like the Tata Harrier and Safari, the MG Hector and Hector Plus, and the Hyundai Alcazar.

Mahindra has been dealing with supply chain challenges, which have resulted in lengthy wait times. However, the carmaker has recently been working on increasing production of the Mahindra XUV700 and Thar alongside the Scorpio N, and this is now reflected in the fact that waiting times for the Scorpio N are steadily decreasing.

The Scorpio N is offered in five trim levels: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L. The top-spec Z8L trim now has the shortest waiting period, with the petrol automatic variants taking about three months and the diesel automatic taking about eight months. The Z8L petrol manual has a waiting period of up to eight months, while the diesel manual has a waiting period of over a year. This top-spec trim had a waiting period of up to 9 months as recently as last month.

The Scorpio N is now priced between Rs 13.06 lakh to Rs 24.51 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It does not currently have a direct competitor in our market, but for pricing and positioning, it competes with the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
