According to GM Vice President Scott Miller, “ChatGPT is going to be in everything” in a recent interview. According to Miller, the chatbot may be used to get instructions on how to use car features typically contained in an owner’s handbook, the program features like a garage door code, or incorporate schedules from a calendar.

GM is considering adopting ChatGPT in vehicles

Customers can anticipate their future vehicles to be significantly more capable and innovative overall when it comes to emerging technology, according to a GM representative on Friday.

The representative went on to say that the transformation was not just about one particular skill, such as the development of voice commands. The American automaker was developing a virtual personal assistant that employs ChatGPT’s AI models, according to the Semafor website, which broke the news first.

Early this year, Microsoft declared a multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI, the company that owns ChatGPT, and stated that it intended to incorporate the chatbot’s technology into all of its businesses. Together with other major technology companies, Microsoft has stepped up its attempts to integrate more technology into automobiles, including infotainment systems, autonomous driving, operating systems that regulate battery performance, and several other features. In order to hasten the commercialization of driverless cars, GM and Microsoft teamed up in 2021. GM’s stock fell by around 2% on Friday as the market as a whole fell.
