The 6 GHz Core i9-13900KS Raptor Lake CPU from Intel has been previewed in the initial benchmarks, and it significantly outperforms the previous “KS” chip. The most powerful Raptor Lake CPU will be the Intel Core i9-13900KS, which has 24 cores and 32 threads in an 8 P-Core and 16 E-Core arrangement. The CPU is set up with a 6.0 GHz (1-2 cores) single-core boost frequency. The CPU will have a combined cache of 68 MB and a 125W PL1 rating that exceeds 253W.

The Intel Core i9-13900KS delivers a 500 MHz increase in maximum clock rates over the Intel Core i9-12900KS, and it should also have better all-core frequencies. Because it has more cores and threads, this enables the CPU to deliver a significant performance gain, particularly in multi-threaded activities.

The single-core performance test results for the Intel Core i9-13900KS 6 GHz Raptor Lake CPU are 982.5, and the multi-threaded performance test results are 18453.4.

That represents a 19% improvement in single-threaded performance over the Core i9-12900KS. Additionally, it performs 9.5% better than the 13900K, 25% better than the Ryzen 9 7950X, and 52% better than the Ryzen 9 5950X.

During multi-threaded tests, the CPU outperformed the Core i9-12900KS by up to 55%, the i9-13900K by 9%, the Ryzen 9 7950X by 18%, and the Ryzen 9 5950X by 56%.

No information is provided on the CPU testing environment, including the motherboard used, the cooling system used, and whether or not the chip was operating at stock speeds. The CPU will use a lot more power than AMD’s Ryzen 7000 chips, that much is certain.
