Glass Onion: A Knives Out has revealed the first look at Rian Johnson’s murder mystery. The multi-cast film follows a spiritual sequel of Rian’s Academy Award-nominated Knives Out that has featured Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, and Toni Colette among the others.
In the second part, we will once again watch Craig’s Detective Benoit Blanc investigating the fresh case, for which he will be able to travel all the way to Greece. The story of the show having a follow-up to Rian Johnson’s show Knives Out, there is a detective Benoit Blanc who has set out for Greece to peel back the layers of such mystery getting involved with a new cast of colorful suspects.
In a Netflix interview, the filmmaker Rian Johnson exposed that in the new feature we may get to know about the character of Daniel Craig that’s much better than we had done in the original.
The director opened, “ In the first one, because of the way it was structured, Marta, Ana de Armas’ character, was very much the protagonist. Ina big way, Blanc was the threat. He was almost the protagonist in terms of just the story structure, because you become worried, that even as they become closer, that was going to catch her and he was going to turn her over at the end.
So, Blanc was always outside and also was a little bit more of an enigma in the first film. Whereas, in this one, Blanch gets an invitation to come to this murder mystery on this island. We’re very much meeting these people and also getting into this world through his eyes,”
Johnson also exposed how he got a chance upon the interesting title of the film and told, “ So, the idea of glass came to me., something that’s clear I’ll be very honest. I literally get out my iPhone and searched my music library along with the word ‘glass’. There’s got to be some good glass songs. I was like, “Oh, is it a glass fortress? Is it a glass castle? Is it a glass man?” the first noticeable thing that came up, as I’m a huge Beatles fan, is ‘Glass Onion”
In this show, we will also see Jessica Henwick, Etan Hawke, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, and many others.
