NVIDIA GeForce RTX Super GPU specs leaked

All you need to know about the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super & GTX 1650 Super

According to Videocardz, NVIDIA has revealed that both the GTX 1660 Super and a new GTX 1650 Super will land in the market in the coming days. We had an idea previously of the GTX 1660 Super which was much needed as AMD is gearing for something big in the budget segment.

Announcing the Radeon RX 5500 made NVIDIA more insecure and it seems they are ready to refresh the budget-oriented GTX 1650 GPU. The GTX 1660S is all set to launch on next Tuesday i.e. October 29th, while the GTX 1650 SUPER has been scheduled for a November 22nd launch (the official date provided under the embargo). The pricing details for the 1650 Super has not yet been disclosed.

We can expect the GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER will receive a much needed faster GDDR6 memory treatment. This GPU will feature modules rated at 12 Gbps (same as the GTX 1660 Ti), while the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER will sport a faster 14 Gbps memory speed.

Let’s talk about the detailed specs of these GPUs as reported by Videocardz:

GTX 1660 Super: A healthy GDDR6 14Gbps memory upgrade with just the cost of 5W TDP

The GTX 1660 SUPER will feature a 12nm Turing TU116 graphics processor with 1408 CUDA cores, 88 TMUs, and 48 ROPs, same as the original GTX 1660. The main upgrade is the inclusion of 6GB GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit memory bus.

This, on the other hand, corresponds to a higher 336 GB/s of maximum theoretical bandwidth. That’s even more than the high priced GTX 1660 Ti, thanks to the faster 14 Gbps memory die.

The card obviously will not be available as a reference design, and the new GTX 1660S GPU can only be purchased from NVIDIA board partners. This is why NVIDIA is not providing the specs for the display and power connectors in their official specs sheet, although it has been mentioned that the GPU will require at least one 8-pin power connector.

If the GPU is priced at the similar price of GTX 1660, this could be a steal deal for gamers and it will not be surprising to see the GTX 1660 Super to match or rather outperform the GTX 1660 Ti. This type of strategy was applied when RTX Super cards were launched previously this year.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER: A much needed GDDR6 memory upgrade

The GTX 1650 SUPER will be equipped with 1280 CUDA cores, same as the GTX 1060 series. This model will be based on the 12nm Turing TU116 graphics processor.

This will be NVIDIA’s cheapest SUPER model equipped with a faster 4GB of GDDR6 memory onboard. The card will be similar to the GTX 1650’s 128-bit memory bus and 32 ROP count.

On the other hand, the higher specs will come at the cost of 25W higher TDP, as the GTX1650 Super will now require 100W of TDP. This model will also be clocked 50-60 MHz higher than the non-Super variant.

The faster GDDR6 memory technology gives the GTX 1650 SUPER a huge boost and puts it right next to GTX 1660 non-SUPER variant if a maximum of 192GB/s bandwidth is to be considered.

Since the GTX 1650 Super is also based on the TU116 graphics processor, both of the GPUs will be supporting the Turing NVENC encoder. This is a new feature added by NVIDIA as the GTX 1650 non-SUPER was utilizing VOLTA NVENC encoder.

The new Super GPUs Launch date

NVIDIA will be launching the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER on October 29th at the price of $229 similar to the original GTX 1660. The GTX 1650 SUPER will be available from the next month, on November 22nd but NVIDIA has not yet provided any pricing info on this budget-oriented but we expect it to be costing similar to $150-$175 price bracket like its predecessor GTX 1650.
