Leicester City have reached an agreement with Austrian club RB Salzburg regarding a transfer for Patson Daka. The 22-year-old is an exciting young talent from Zambia and has been with the club since 2017.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has given the deal his famous ‘here we go’ signal, meaning that the official announcement can be expected soon. The Foxes have edged out bigger teams in England such as Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as Salzburg’s sister club, RB Leipzig.

Daka impressed heavily with his scoring stats in 20/21, netting 34 goals and providing 12 assists across 42 appearances in all competitions. He is viewed as the successor to Jamie Vardy and will be the long-term striker at Leicester City going forward.

The youngster has earned 22 caps for the Zambia national team and has scored 7 times. He was voted the African Youth Player of the Year in 2017, which further adds to his credibility.

With Daka all set to join the Foxes, talks with Celtic for Odsonne Edouard have ended since Leicester are signing another exciting young striker. To further add to his CV, he has experience in the Champions League and could help Leicester with their European conquest next season as well.

Brendan Rodgers’ team have also negotiated the signing of Boubakary Soumare, which is a done deal. They will also be looking for a left-back this summer to compete with Thomas Justin for game time and help in mutual improvement.
