He Gave Up Everything for Love, She Gave Up Love for Family — Ha Seok Jin & EXID’s Hani Are Already Breaking Hearts in “Love on the Menu”

Love on the Menu is a family romance drama about two former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful split. Now older, wearier, and weighed down by family responsibilities and old wounds, they must find their way back to each other — and to themselves. The first script reading is done — and the chemistry is already off the charts.

Love on the Menu: Key Details

What Is Love on the Menu About?

Ha Seok Jin plays Kim Moo Jin, a man who once gave up everything for love and carries that sacrifice behind a cold, guarded exterior. The actor himself described Moo Jin as someone with a chilly personality who is paradoxically more sincere about love than anyone else in the room.

Hani steps into the role of Han Gyu Rim, a woman who made the opposite sacrifice — choosing family over love. At the script reading, Hani brought both Gyu Rim’s quiet resilience and the barely-hidden exhaustion beneath it, keeping audiences completely immersed without a single camera rolling yet.

The chemistry between the two — a mix of youthful longing and unresolved heartbreak — has fans counting the days until July.

The Ensemble That Makes It Whole

Beyond the leads, Park You Na delivers a layered turn as Gyu Rim’s younger sister — selfish yet fiercely devoted. Bae Jung Nam brings grounded warmth as Gyu Rim’s loyal male friend. And veterans Kwon Hae Hyo, Yoon Yoo Sun, Ryu Seung Soo, and Jin Kyung anchored every scene that required the perfect balance of humour and heartache.

Writer Lee Kyung Hee — known for emotionally rich, multi-generational stories — is behind the script, which is already a major reason to be excited. This is a drama built for people who cry at family dinners and believe second chances are real.
