“Love on the Menu”: Old Wounds Reopen As Ha Seok Jin Walks Back Into Hani’s Family Drama

Some love stories don’t end — they just go quiet for a while. KBS2’s “Love on the Menu” is proof of that, and tonight’s episode is turning up the emotional heat as old flames Kim Moo Jin (Ha Seok Jin) and Han Gyu Rim (Hani) collide with the messy reality of family, resentment, and unfinished business.

The drama follows two former lovers reuniting eight years after a painful breakup, slowly stitching their broken families back together — one uncomfortable dinner table moment at a time. Naturally, nothing about reconciliation is smooth.

What’s Cooking in Tonight’s Episode?

Kim Moo Jin makes an unannounced visit to Han Gyu Rim’s family, and it does not go well. Her father and sister aren’t exactly rolling out the welcome mat, but he pushes forward anyway, determined to prove his feelings are real.

Meanwhile, Han Gyu Rim hits her breaking point, storming out of the family store in tears — years of bottled-up emotion finally spilling over. Elsewhere, Moo Jin quietly stews after stumbling onto yet another buried family secret, holding back visible anger as more truths come to light.

Why “Love on the Menu” Hits Different

This isn’t your typical reunion romance. The show wisely treats love and family healing as intertwined — you can’t really win back someone’s heart without first making peace with the people who shaped their pain. That’s what gives “Love on the Menu” its emotional weight: it’s not just about rekindling romance, it’s about rebuilding trust brick by brick, even when the walls keep going up.

Catch the new episode tonight, September 20, at 8 p.m. KST on KBS2.
