Marvel Studios Will Officially Give Fans A Taste Of Avengers: Doomsday In July

The biggest movie of 2026 is finally ready to show itself to the world. Marvel Studios has confirmed its presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, and the centerpiece of its Hall H panel will be none other than Avengers: Doomsday. After months of teaser trailers, cryptic social media posts, and an exclusive CinemaCon screening that drove fans into a frenzy, Marvel is all set to unleash the first public look at the most ambitious superhero crossover ever assembled.

When and Where Is the Reveal Happening?

San Diego Comic-Con takes place from July 21–26, with the Marvel Studios panel expected on July 25. Though Marvel Studios has a vested interest in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, out a week later, the December 18 release of Doomsday is just about perfect timing for the July convention.

Five months out from release is right around when you’d expect the marketing machine to really get rolling, so from experience, not only is extended footage expected to be played in the room but also potentially an online trailer release too.

What Has Marvel Shown So Far?

Marvel has been playing its cards close to the chest with Doomsday’s marketing. Four different Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers have been released so far, and they have already surpassed a billion views combined. These teasers spotlighted Steve Rogers, Thor, the X-Men, and Shuri among others. The four Avengers: Doomsday teasers were attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash back in December.

A full-length trailer was screened at CinemaCon in April 2026. Feige, Downey, Evans, and the Russos promoted the film at CinemaCon in April 2026 and showed a full trailer to attendees. Some attendees said they had “never experienced a response that overwhelming” at the convention. However, that footage was never released publicly — a move that has frustrated fans for months.

In June, a Flying Horse Coffee location in London near SXSW London was rebranded as “Dom Latveria Coffee” for a pop-up event with the Russo brothers, but this stunt was met with disappointment from fans who believed the directors had been teasing the public release of the film’s full trailer.

What to Expect at SDCC in July

From experience, not only is extended footage expected to be played in the room but also potentially an online trailer release too. Whether or not that’s the first or second trailer, only time will tell, but it could very well end up being the first official footage released online.

With several dozen stars set to appear in the movie, many of them could appear on stage too. And maybe Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige even announces a few names that haven’t been revealed in the film yet. Feige and his team love giving Comic-Con fans big surprises.

The release timing also means that the footage could be attached to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.

Avengers: Doomsday — Key Production Details

Principal photography for Doomsday began on April 28, 2025, at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, under the working title Apple Pie 1. Filming wrapped on September 19. The Hollywood Reporter reported that there would be a “healthy” amount of additional photography, which is expected to take place in early 2026.

In May 2025, Disney delayed the release date to December 18, 2026, to allow more time for production to be completed. According to Deadline, the studio decided to push the release because of the movie’s “gargantuan vision”.

The Most Ambitious Cast in Marvel History

The large cast features actors from previous MCU media and 20th Century Fox’s X-Men film series, using the idea of colliding universes to bring together actors from different franchises.

Reportedly, Avengers: Doomsday has a budget of $1 billion, making it the most expensive movie ever produced. A huge chunk of this budget ($250 million allegedly) will be spent on the salaries of the cast.

Doomsday is the penultimate chapter of the Multiverse Saga, bringing heroes from multiple universes onto a collision course against Doom as the fate of the multiverse hangs in the balance. It’s designed to lead directly into Avengers: Secret Wars.

Box Office Predictions

Rebecca Rubin at Variety reported in March 2026 that early box office tracking was “strong” and there were predictions that Doomsday would be 2026’s highest-grossing film. Theatrical exhibitors were excited for Doomsday considering Endgame’s record-breaking run, and there was potential for the combined release of Doomsday and Dune: Part Three to result in one of the biggest box office weekends ever.
