Spider-Noir OTT Release Date: Nicolas Cage’s Noir Marvel Series Is Streaming Now

If you’re looking for the Spider-Noir OTT release date, the key update is simple: Spider-Noir premiered globally on Prime Video on May 27, 2026. In the United States, the series debuted first on MGM+’s linear broadcast channel on May 25, before arriving worldwide on Prime Video two days later.

That means the Nicolas Cage-led series is already available to stream on OTT, making it one of Prime Video’s headline genre releases of May 2026. Amazon also positioned it as a major launch in its monthly streaming slate, underlining the show’s importance within the platform’s current lineup.

Streaming Details At A Glance

The global OTT launch happened on Prime Video, where the full first season was made available as a binge release. Viewers can also choose between two presentation styles: a standard color version and an “authentic black-and-white” version, which Amazon highlighted as one of the show’s signature features.

What Spider-Noir Is About

Amazon describes Spider-Noir as the story of Ben Reilly, played by Nicolas Cage, a “seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York” who is forced to confront his past life as the city’s only superhero after a deeply personal tragedy. The setup shifts the Spider-Man mythology into a darker detective framework, leaning more into noir tension than modern superhero spectacle.

The 1930s New York setting is central to the appeal. Rather than using the familiar contemporary Spider-Man structure, the series reframes the character as a damaged investigator moving through a shadowy city shaped by corruption, crime and unresolved trauma. That creative direction is also why Prime Video has emphasized the black-and-white viewing option so strongly in its marketing.

Nicolas Cage Returns To The Character

One of the biggest attractions of the series is that Nicolas Cage is reprising the Spider-Noir role in live action after previously voicing the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Amazon lists Cage as playing The Spider / Ben Reilly, making this his first leading television role in a major streaming series.

The supporting cast includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson, with Amazon also listing a number of guest stars. That ensemble gives the show a broader crime-drama texture beyond its comic-book roots.

Creative Team Behind The Series

Spider-Noir was developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, who serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. The project also includes Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal as executive producers, extending the creative line from the Spider-Verse films into this live-action series. Amazon says Harry Bradbeer directed and executive produced the first two episodes.

That creative lineup matters because it explains why the project has been positioned as more than just another comic adaptation. The show clearly wants to balance franchise familiarity with a more distinct period-drama identity, and the involvement of Spider-Verse talent gives it stronger continuity with the broader multiverse side of the Spider-Man brand.

Why The Release Date Matters

The May 27, 2026 Prime Video release date placed Spider-Noir in a strong late-spring launch window, where it could dominate conversation before the start of the heavier summer release period. Amazon’s own promotional material highlighted it as one of the platform’s marquee May releases.

That timing also helped the show build momentum quickly. Within days of release, Amazon’s own weekly rankings page listed Spider-Noir among the top original titles watched on Prime Video for the week of May 25-31.

Is Spider-Noir Streaming In India?

Yes. Because the show launched globally on Prime Video, it is available as an OTT release in India as well, subject to normal regional Prime Video availability. Amazon specifically described the May 27 drop as a global Prime Video launch.

The Spider-Noir OTT release date is no longer a future date to track — the series is already out. Spider-Noir premiered globally on Prime Video on May 27, 2026, after first airing on MGM+ in the U.S. on May 25. With Nicolas Cage fronting a 1930s detective take on Spider-Man Noir, dual viewing formats in color and black-and-white, and a strong creative team behind it, the series has arrived as one of Prime Video’s biggest genre launches of the year.
