Meet Jocasta: Ultron’s Robotic Bride Finally Steps Into the MCU

Ultron just got a plus-one — and she’s not here to be a footnote. The newest VisionQuest trailer gives fans their first full look at T’Nia Miller’s Jocasta, confirming what many suspected: Vision’s father figure has built himself a bride, straight out of the comics, and she’s coming for his estranged son.

Who Is Jocasta, and Why Does She Matter?

In the trailer, Vision recaps the events of WandaVision to Ultron, warning his son Tommy that this may be a battle he can’t win — all while Jocasta appears in a direct confrontation with him. It turns out Ultron isn’t just after Vision’s body; he’s also using Jocasta to attack him on a second front, forcing Vision to rely on his newly powered son and a crew of AI allies to survive both threats.

From Comics to Screen: How Jocasta’s Design Holds Up

Marvel clearly took care translating Jocasta’s comic book look into live-action, though a few creative liberties stand out.

The Wild Comic Book Backstory

Jocasta’s comic origins are, frankly, bizarre. Ultron created her in 1977 using the brain patterns of Janet van Dyne — his own creator’s wife, making Jocasta a strange stand-in for Ultron’s “mother.” Her name is even a nod to the Greek myth of a woman who unknowingly marries her son. Whether VisionQuest leans into that unsettling parallel remains unclear, though a version of her data chip was already teased as an Easter egg back in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

What This Means Going Forward?

While Jocasta is positioned as a villain for now, her comic arc suggests a possible redemption. If the show follows that path, she could eventually break free from Ultron’s control and align herself with Vision — possibly even joining a future Avengers AI team down the line.
