Lechonk Is Taking Over India This Weekend — Everything You Need to Know About Pokémon GO May 2026 Community Day

This little pig is about to have its biggest moment yet. Lechonk, the adorably chonky Hog Pokémon from Paldea, is headlining the Pokémon GO May 2026 Community Day on Saturday, May 9, 2026 — and with meetups confirmed across 45 Indian cities, this is shaping up to be one of the most accessible Community Days ever for Indian Trainers.

Pokémon GO Community Day — May 2026

Why You Should Step Out This Saturday

Community Days in Pokémon GO are always a big deal for the Indian trainer community, but this one is particularly well spread out geographically. Whether you’re in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, Delhi’s Lodhi Garden, Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park, Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium, Hyderabad’s Sarath City Capital Mall, or Chennai’s IIT Madras Campus — there’s almost certainly a meetup spot near you.

The core window runs from 2 PM to 5 PM IST, but several bonuses extend all the way to 9 PM, giving evening players plenty of extra time to trade and catch.

The Lechonk Evolution You Actually Want

Here’s the move that makes this Community Day worth hunting for — evolve Lechonk into Oinkologne during the event (or up to four hours after it ends) and you’ll get the Fast Attack Mud Slap permanently on that Pokémon. With 11 power in Trainer Battles and 19 power in Gyms and Raids, it’s a solid Ground-type move worth locking in on a strong IV Oinkologne.

Don’t rush the evolution — the four-hour post-event window gives you time to scout your best catches first.

All the Event Bonuses at a Glance

The bonuses this time around are genuinely stacked. You’ll get 2× Candy for every catch, ¼ Egg Hatch Distance when eggs are incubated during the event, and 2× Candy XL chance for Trainers at level 31 and above. Incense runs for three full hours, Lure Modules last an hour, and you get one extra Special Trade for the day — with trades costing 50% less Stardust.

Oh, and snap a few photos during the event for a surprise. Always worth doing.

The Special Research Ticket — Worth It?

At just ₹59, the Lechonk Community Day Special Research is a no-brainer for active players. You’ll score three Lechonk encounters with Special Backgrounds, additional encounters, one Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL. You can also gift the ticket to any friend at Great Friends level or higher — a thoughtful feature for players who want to share the event with someone who’s missed out.
