We have been hearing rumours about a new life of affordable Chromebooks coming out of HP for its Indian market for weeks. According to the latest sources, a new Flipkart teaser has gone live, suggesting that the rumoured Chromebook could the HP Chromebook 11a.
According to the teaser page, the Chromebook will launch on April 8 and will sport blue colour. It will include a 3.5mm audio/mic jack, Type-C port, and a microSD card reader on the right. It also comes with all the software goodies such as the in-built Google Play Store, G Suite applications, and more.
HP has decided to make its new Chromebook available in India under ₹25,000 segment from what we know so far. And, incidentally, the device teased in the Flipkart teaser page indicates the Chromebook 11a from 2020.
So, we can speculate that the model to be launched in India will feature an 11.6-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1366×768. The display will reportedly have a maximum brightness of 220 nits and cover 50% of the NTSC colour gamut.
The device is also reported to be powered by a MediaTek 8183 processor clocked at 2.0GHz base frequency with a 2MB L2 cache. Other notable features include a 4GB LPDDR4-3733 MHz RAM, eMMC storage of up to 32GB, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, 37WHr battery with 45W power adapter, stereo speakers, a 720P HP True Vision web camera, and run Chrome OS.
With the boom in distant learning and a second wave of the COVID virus spreading across India, it is only a matter of time, before we see another drive of online academic classes.
