Hollywood’s favourite superhero just dropped a bombshell — and it has nothing to do with Marvel. Chris Hemsworth, the Australian actor who has played Thor for over a decade, casually admitted on a podcast that he has seriously considered stepping into a real MMA cage. Social media? Absolutely unhinged since.

What Did Chris Hemsworth Actually Say?

Speaking on Complex’s Family Style Fortune Cookies, Hemsworth opened up about his genuine love for combat sports — one that goes well beyond movie choreography.

He admitted a part of him has always wanted to test himself in a real fight, adding that while he has trained and sparred extensively over the years, it was always within the limits of “not killing each other.” He joked he would probably end up flat on his back with stars in his eyes — but his curiosity is clearly real.

When actress Halle Berry asked who he’d fight, Hemsworth gave a perfectly self-aware answer: someone long retired, so he could just run circles around them until they got tired.

The humor lands — but so does the honesty. He knows the gap between a movie fight and a sanctioned bout is enormous.

Hemsworth’s MMA Knowledge Is Legit

Fighter He Cited	Why He Respects Them
Georges St-Pierre	All-time great, intelligent, a gentleman
Alexander Volkanovski	Fellow Australian, personal friend

Dropping Georges St-Pierre and Volkanovski unprompted shows Hemsworth isn’t just a casual fan — he knows the sport deeply.

What’s Fuelling This Buzz?

The timing is everything. This comment dropped just as Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano was announced under Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) banner on Netflix — a fight that is already blurring every line between entertainment and elite competition.

With that backdrop, fans immediately started floating match-up ideas for Hemsworth: a Marvel crossover bout against Chris Evans, a Netflix headliner against Jake Paul, or a Misfits Boxing-style crossover card.

Not everyone is convinced, of course. Several fans pointed out the very real physical realities of entering professional MMA in your 40s — cinematic physique and cage-readiness are completely different things.

Could It Actually Happen?

Realistically? The odds are slim. But in an era where Jake Paul turned into a legitimate professional boxer, calling it impossible feels naive. Hemsworth’s brother Liam Hemsworth has also been floated as a potential route into this crossover fight world.
