Manchester United is considering a move for the £51m Sporting Lisbon winger Pedro Goncalves.
Manchester United was in search of a winger for a long time. Last summer, they wanted Jadon Sancho. But the deal had not gone through as the Red Devils failed to match the asking price of Borussia Dortmund. Finally, they signed two teenagers- Facundo Pellestri and Amad Diallo. However, both of them possess an immense prospect. But they need some more time to develop.
However, Manchester United needs a quick solution to their winger problem. They will again go for Jadon Sancho next summer. If Borussia Dortmund rejected the offer for Jadon Sancho, they would go for Sporting Lisbon winger Pedro Goncalves.
The 22 years old Pedro Goncalves is in excellent form this season with Sporting Lisbon. He has scored 15 goals in his 21 appearances in the Primeira Liga. He has become the star player for the Portuguese side.
Goncalves is a very versatile player. He can play in both wings and as well as in central midfield position. It will increase the option in the team for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Portuguese has spent two years at Wolves from 2017 to 2019, making one League Cup appearance, before moving to Sporting Lisbon after impressing at Famalicao.
Manchester United has a great business relation with Sporting Lisbon. From Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani to the latest addition Bruno Fernandes, they are all equally successful at Old Trafford. United fans can hope for the same with Pedro Goncalves.
