As Carlo Ancelotti once rightfully said, the only player more dangerous than Cristiano Ronaldo is a Cristiano Ronaldo who hasn’t scored in the previous game. CR7 went goalless against Porto in the Champions League as Juventus were dumped out of this season’s European competition by the Portuguese outfit despite them being the favourites heading into the fixture.
In the next game Juventus played against Cagliari in Serie A, Ronaldo scored a perfect hat-trick in 33 minutes to silence all his critics, who had practically written him off for being on the wrong side of 30 and not fulfilling his purpose of bringing the Champions League trophy to Turin.
The first goal was a header by Cristiano Ronaldo as he converted a great cross by Juan Cuadrado. The second was a penalty that the player won in the 25th minute before putting away another in the 33rd minute to get himself the perfect hat-trick with a header, the left foot and the right foot.
There have been rumours linking Ronaldo with a return to Real Madrid since he has failed to carry Juventus to the Champions League trophy for the third year running, and exited the competition in the round of 16 for the second year running. His agent, Jorge Mendes has also been in talks with Los Blancos regarding a return, however, talks are all they are.
Ronaldo has made it clear that he is here to stay and will be fighting for everything still left to fight for this season, especially the Serie A trophy, which Inter lead the race for. Juventus are 10 points behind Inter with a game in hand and will have to win every single one of their upcoming matches to try and compete with Inter.
