Liverpool’s bad run continues. Liverpool suffers fifth straight loss at Anfield last night. Jurgen Klopp’s men lost against Chelsea by 1-0 last night. Mason Mount’s 42nd minute goal is the only difference between two side.

Liverpool is not in impressive form recently. With injury issues, a recent dip in the players’ form has caused the defending champions serious trouble in the league.

Liverpool went with the best possible XI they have to face Thomas Tuchel’s men. Chelsea dominated from the very first minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Timo Werner found the net, but the VAR ruled it out for a close offside.

In the 42nd minute, Mason Mount put the London side into the lead. The Chelsea midfielder fired passed Alisson to give the visitors a deserved lead.

Liverpool tried to make a comeback in the second half but that was not enough to break the deadlock. After the match, Jurgen Klopp told that it is a ‘massive blow’ for his side. He said, “It is not about Anfield or whatever, it is in general, too often. In the decisive moments we have to improve.”

“You cannot say it is only at home. We have to show our quality in these moments and we don’t do that often enough.”

“It was a tight, intense game. It is a massive blow. We have to win football games. It is not done yet.”

Jurgen Klopp subbed off Mohammed Salah at the hour mark which was a controversial decision in the context of the game. He said, “I just brought on fresh legs. Mo looked like today he suffered a bit, he played a lot of games.”

“I could have taken off Sadio (Mane) or Bobby (Firmino). That is all clear but at that moment it looked like Mo.”

However, Liverpool is now 7th in the table. The Reds are now struggling just to finish in the top four. It will be interesting to see how Jurgen Klopp tackles this downfall and bring them back on track.
