NVIDIA’s “Un-released” GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB GPU Surfaces Online

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, previously one of the top graphics cards, has a long-lost sibling who never made its market debut. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, which we’ve seen in numerous EEC listings, appears to be legitimate or has existed for some time.

MEGAsizeGPU, a hardware leaker, has published several images and a GPU-Z screenshot of what appears to be the unreleased GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB. But it’s a little perplexing. The images depict a GeForce RTX 3070 Founders Edition. The design and model name on the backplate support this.

The GPU-Z screenshot, on the other hand, exposes the specifications for the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, but with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM rather than 8GB. We assume that a manufacturer repurposed the GeForce RTX 3070 cooler for this particular GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB. However, we’ve already seen user hacks that double the memory capacity of the GeForce RTX 3070, so we wouldn’t be surprised if this GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB is a laboratory experiment from someone’s garage.

The GA104 (Ampere) hardware utilised in the vanilla GeForce RTX 3070 Ti remains in the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB. It still has 6,144 CUDA cores, as well as 192 Tensor cores and 48 RT cores. However, the clock speeds appear to be different. While the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti has a base speed of 1,575 MHz and a boost clock of 1,770 MHz, the never-before-seen 16GB model has a base rate of 1,590 MHz and a boost clock of 1,800 MHz.

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, as the name suggests, has twice the memory of the regular GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.

According to the leaked GPU-Z screenshot, the memory modules are different. We had assumed that the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB will use the same GDDR6X memory modules as the standard model. The GPU-Z screenshot, on the other hand, indicates differently. The 16GB model, on the other hand, is said to feature substantially slower GDDR6 memory modules.

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti features 19 Gbps GDDR6X memory modules that communicate through a 256-bit interface to provide up to 608 GBps of memory bandwidth. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, on the other hand, is said to have 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory modules. However, because the 256-bit memory bus is retained, the graphics card only provides 512 GBps of memory bandwidth.

While the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB has quicker clock speeds and double the memory capacity, the Ampere graphics card has less memory bandwidth than the 8GB model. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any leaked benchmarks for the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, thus its performance is unknown.
