Germany, Spain and Italy are still suffering from the World Cup winner’s curse. But, France have made it look like mere superstition with their performances in Qatar. They have progressed to the finals for the second consecutive edition of the World Cup, putting them in elite company among and above some of the best squads in history.
They will be facing the other favourites heading into the tournament, Argentina, in a clash that promises to be one for the ages. However, their attacking display has been nothing short of incredible despite the injuries they sustained heading into the tournament.

Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe have been banging in the goals for the team throughout their campaign. But, special mention must also go to Antoine Griezmann for his tireless work rate and his versatility.
Griezmann was once a winger, before turning into a centre-forward for Atletico Madrid. He then became a playmaker for Barcelona, also being used out wide at times, before playing deeper in midfield. And what could have been a decision frowned upon is now seen as a masterstroke by Didier Deschamps.

France’s immense squad depth is scary, to say the least. Despite missing Karim Benzema, Christopher Nkunku, Present Kimpembe, Lucas Hernandez, N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, the team has made these absences seem little more than afterthought.
However, they will face their biggest challenge yet in the Albiceleste – with Lionel Messi playing his last World Cup match to try and win the one trophy he is yet to add to his collection. But, France will have a lot to say about that as they look to defend their world title.
