Redmi Pad launched in India: Helio G99 processor, 8000mAh battery, and 90Hz display

In the Indian market, Xiaomi has recently unveiled a new tablet. The Redmi Pad tablet was showcased at a company-hosted online launch broadcast. Let’s take a closer look at its pricing, specifications, design, and other features to see if they are noteworthy given the price tag.

The Redmi Pad’s fresh design is something that the Chinese tech giant has prioritized. Its 465-gram weight puts it on par with the Apple iPad Air in terms of lightness. The backside of the device comes with an aluminium and magnesium alloy metal unibody design.

Redmi Pad Specifications

In the upper left corner of the back is a camera module. The Redmi Pad offers a variety of hues, including Graphite Gray, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green. The front, meanwhile, features a huge 10.6-inch IPS LCD panel that can display more than 1 billion colours. In addition to having a 2K resolution of 2000 × 1200 pixels, this screen also boasts an adaptive sync 90Hz refresh rate.

The highest brightness of this model is 400 nits. Widevine L1 certification for the display means that consumers can access higher resolutions on well-known OTT services like Netflix. This pad comes with SGS eye protection and TUV Rheinland certification.

Redmi Pad 2022

It comes with the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, which debuts with the recently unveiled tablet, based on a 6nm process. This chipset is capable to provide you with a smooth gaming experience. Tablets typically have an obsolete chipset, thus the new Xiaomi tablet ought to provide a better gaming experience. Additionally, the gadget has up to 128GB of internal storage and up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, both of which we can increase to 1TB using a microSD card slot.

The tablet contains an 8-megapixel camera with a built-in document scanner on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with a wide 105 FOV on the front. The Redmi Pad has a quad camera configuration for audio that also supports Dolby Atmos. According to official notes, we can use most third-party capacitive styluses and pencils for this pad. It comes 8,000mAh battery pack that enables 18W quick charging. Other features include an out-of-the-box Android 12 OS, Dual band WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3 support.

Availability and Pricing of Redmi Pad

There are three storage settings and three colour choices for the Redmi Pad. This comes in three different configurations: 3GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 128GB. The base model comes at a price of 14,999 INR, while the 4GB model is 17,999 INR, and the flagship model is 19,999 INR. Notably, the premium 6GB edition is the only one to offer the Mint Green colour choice.

It is noteworthy that Xiaomi is providing all three varieties at a discounted initial price, lowering the cost of each model. The price of the 3GB + 64GB model is now 12,999 INR, followed by the price of the 4GB + 128GB version at 14,999 INR, and the price of the 6GB + 128GB version at 17,999 INR. Interestingly, the business is also providing an extra 10% off through special bank deals on Mi.com. The corresponding pricing is now 11,700 INR, 13,500 INR, or 15,300 INR.

Starting today, October 5, 2022, at 10 am on Mi.com, the Redmi Pad will go on an exclusive early bird sale for its premium Mint Green version. On the other hand, all the other variations will also go on sale on October 5 at 12 p.m., but this model will be offered through Flipkart, Mi Home, and even some retail outlets.
