Redmi K50 Extreme Edition launched with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC

Xiaomi has finally launched its highly anticipated Redmi K50 Extreme Edition in China, the latest device from the brand falls in the Redmi K50 Series and it is similar to the Xiaomi 12/12S lineup. Let us take a detailed look at the specifications of the smartphone packs.

Redmi K50 Extreme Edition detailed specifications

The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition arrives with a 6.7″ punch-hole display with a 12-bit OLED display that is offered by China’s TCL CSOT, and Tianma. The panel offers a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, 446 PPI, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and 1920Hz PWM dimming.

The screen arrives with support for Dolby Vision, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, and an Adaptive HDR. the display is SGS low fatigue-certified and it has a hardware-level low blue light mode.

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 chip paired with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and the VC liquid cooling system. It runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 OS.

In the optics department, we see a triple camera setup with a 108MP primary shooter with OIS support, an 8MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro shooter. On the front, we see a 20MP selfie shooter.

Apart from this, we see standard features such as dual SIM support, 5G support, WiFi 6 support, dual-band GNSS, NFC support, an IP53 rating, Dolby Atmos support with dual-stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The smartphone arrives with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. The smartphone has been priced as follows. The 8GB RAM+128GB model retails for $445 or Rs.35,404, the 8GB RAM+256GB model retails for $490 or Rs.38,984, the 12GB RAM+256GB model retails for $534 or Rs.42,485, and the 12GB RAM+512GB model costs $594 or Rs.47,179.

The device is available in Black, Blue, and Silver colors. The Champion Edition of the device is an exclusive one that retails for $623 and it comes in a 12GB RAM+512GB storage variant. The variant is based on the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. The handset is already available for pre-order and it will go on sale from 10 AM on the 16th of August.
