Gabriel Jesus increasingly likely to swap Manchester City for Arsenal from 2022-23

Arsenal are stepping up in their pursuit of Gabriel Jesus this summer. The Manchester City striker is out of a contract in June 2023, and is likely to look for new opportunities in the summer.

With Erling Haaland expected to make the move to City from Borussia Dortmund, Gabriel Jesus will be further down in the pecking order for Pep Guardiola. As a result, he will be keen to secure regular playing time elsewhere. And a reunion with Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium seems likely if the London side maintains their interest in him.

Gabriel Jesus set to leave Manchester City in the summer

The Brazilian striker has scored 7 goals and provided 11 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. He joined City from Palmeiras in 2017 and is now set to end his spell with them after five years.

With one year remaining on his contract, the €50 million-valued forward is likely to leave on a cut-price deal. Arsenal will need to sign a designated number 9 in the summer, with Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette both expected to leave the club as free agents at the end of the season.

Gabriel Jesus has earned 54 caps for the Brazil National team, and has scored 18 goals during his time with them. He has recently been dropped by Tite, and will be hopeful of making it back in time for the World Cup. For that to happen, he will need regular playing time, which he could find at Arsenal.
