NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti and RTX 3050 will be available on January 27th with RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB to come on January 11th

In January, NVIDIA plans to release three new GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards: the RTX 3090, RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB, and RTX 3050. Videocardz obtained the embargo docs for NVIDIA’s forthcoming graphics cards based on the Ampere graphics architecture and has leaked the information. These three new cards include the RTX 3090 Ti, which is the new flagship, as well as the RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB and RTX 3050.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is intended at the ultra-enthusiast GPU market, while the RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB is aimed at the high-end segment, and the RTX 3050 is aimed at the mainstream section.

The launch / unveil dates of these graphics cards are mentioned below:

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti: 27th January 2022 (On Shelve Date)
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB: 17th December (Unveil) / 11th January (Launch)
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050: 4th January (Unveil) / 27th January (Launch)

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti ‘Alleged’ Specifications

The first is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, which is likely to be another Titan-class card. The 3090 Ti is likely to have the entire GA102 GPU core with 10752 cores and 24 GB GDDR6X memory, according to the specs. Micron’s upgraded dies will allow the memory to run at higher speeds, pushing speeds over 20 Gbps. The price may remain unchanged at $1499 US (MSRP), but we should see a slight 5% increase overall.

The TGP of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card will be over 400W. This is 50W higher than the previous 3090, implying better GPU and VRAM rates. There’s also talk of a new power connector coming in the MicroFit form factor, but it won’t look anything like the old connector. The new 16-pin connector will be compatible with PCIe Gen 5.0 and will provide some current stability for the next-generation protocol, which is slated to debut on the flagship card.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB Graphics Card Specifications

On the other side, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB will use the GA104-401-A1 GPU. The PG141-SKU10 board will be used by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. 6144 CUDA cores or 48 SMs will be available in the Ampere GPU. The GeForce RTX 3070 has 4 percent more CUDA cores, whereas the GeForce RTX 3080 has about 30% fewer cores. The clock speeds on the card are a 1580 MHz base and a 1770 MHz boost.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will likewise have 16 GB of GDDR6X memory, with the difference being that NVIDIA is using higher-grade GDDR6X chips instead of the normal GDDR6 modules found on the previous GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. Because of the extra cores and newer memory modules, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will end up close to the RTX 3080 with a TGP of 300W. Like the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti, the card will have a 256-bit bus interface with pin speeds of 19 Gbps.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 8 GB Graphics Card Specifications

In terms of the GeForce RTX 3050’s specifications, there are rumors that an NVIDIA GA106-150 GPU for the ‘PG190 SKU 70’ board is in the works. The GA106-150 GPU is said to have 3072 CUDA cores spread across 24 SM units.

It’s also possible that the card will have 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, giving it a significant memory edge over AMD and Intel’s entry-level chips. The card is likely to outperform the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, but it will lag behind the RTX 2060 12 GB model.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 will compete with AMD’s Navi 24 (Radeon RX 6500 / Radeon RX 6400) and Intel’s Alchemist DG2-128 (ARC A380) graphics cards, both of which will be released next year. It would be fascinating to see if prices for these budget tier cards can be maintained, though we shouldn’t get our expectations up too high because supply difficulties aren’t projected to be rectified until 2023.
