Oppo Pad tablet set to release in India in the first half of 2022

In the past couple of months, we have come across multiple reports of Oppo looking to release its first-ever tablet, the Oppo Pad. Now, we have more information with respect to the tablet courtesy of 91Mobiles and Mukul Sharma.

The Oppo Pad is expected to launch in China this month and will reportedly feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. While there has been no official word from Oppo about the launch of the tablet in India, the latest rumors reveal that the tablet will in fact be released in the country.

Oppo is gearing up to launch the tablet in the first half of 2022; the tipster has not explicitly confirmed if it would be the same exact tablet that will launch in China or if it will be a different model, with more or less the same specs.

We can expect the tablet to be released in India in H1 of 2022, but since Oppo will launch the tablet in China this month, the likelihood of a Q1 2022 release is also very strong.

However, since the company may view the requirements for the Indian market as different from that of its host nation China, we cannot really tell if we will get a totally different tablet or the same tab with minor alterations.

Coming to the specs of the Oppo Pad, it will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 870 chipset; we can expect it to be packed with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

The tablet is likely to run on ColorOS 12-based Android 12 OS out-of-the-box. The display has a high refresh rate of 120Hz with an IPS LCD panel.

In terms of optics, the Oppo Pad could come with a 13MP primary sensor and an 8MP selfie shooter. Coming to the pricing of the device, it could be priced at around CNY 2,000 or 23,000 INR.

So far, this is all we know about the Oppo Pad, but since we are nearing its launch, we can expect to come across more information.
