Xiaomi’s Poco is now an independent smartphone brand in India

POCO is a well-known brand by Xiaomi who has stormed the year 2018 with its killer flagship device POCO F1 featuring the 2018’s flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC and the brand was well praised for its budget flagship that literally put the whole smartphone market across the globe in jeopardy.

Xiaomi's POCO Partners With Qualcomm

We already have some speculations regarding the successor of the brand’s first device, which we even had in 2019, but it seems things are to change in the new decade. Poco is a separate in its origin country but in India, it operates in India as there’s only one device of it.

In 2019, Xiaomi still retained their top spot in the smartphone market but it is aware of the danger by its new rival Realme and the likes of other brands like Vivo, Oppo, Samsung and Honor. The year 2020 can be a great year to again revive the “POCO” brand and make it independent in India.

Today Xiaomi India’s head Manu Kumar Jain has announced that POCO will work as a separate smartphone brand in India. This is proof that soon Poco will launch its own smartphone and work independently in the budget centric country like India.

We previously had some speculations as Xiaomi made a trademark application with the name of POCO F2. This strongly suggests that the new budget flagship in the $300-400 price segment can again create a spark in the smartphone market in 2020. All assumptions can only be defied in the coming months when we get the worthy successor of the Poco F1.
