Samsung 3GB GDDR7: RTX 5090 Super Gets Memory Boost

What Are Samsung’s 3GB GDDR7 Modules?

Samsung’s latest memory innovation represents a significant upgrade from the standard 2GB GDDR7 modules currently powering most RTX 50 series GPUs. These cutting-edge memory chips, designated as K4VCF325ZC-SC28, offer 50% more capacity per module compared to their K4VAF325ZC predecessors.

The breakthrough technology has already made its debut in the RTX 5090 laptop variant, proving its viability for next-generation graphics solutions. With Chinese retailers now listing these modules for sale, widespread adoption appears imminent.

RTX 5090 Super: The Game-Changer

The most exciting prospect involves the potential RTX 5090 Super, which could feature an unprecedented 48GB of VRAM. This massive memory capacity would position NVIDIA’s flagship GPU as the ultimate solution for:

4K Gaming: Smooth performance at maximum settings
Content Creation: Unparalleled video editing and 3D rendering capabilities
AI Workloads: Enhanced machine learning and deep learning applications
Professional Visualization: Support for complex architectural and engineering projects

Memory Upgrade Possibilities Across RTX 50 Series

GPU Model	Current VRAM	Potential Upgrade	Performance Impact
RTX 5090	32GB	48GB	Extreme 4K gaming, AI workloads
RTX 5080 Super	16GB	24GB	Enhanced 4K gaming, content creation
RTX 5070 Ti	16GB	24GB	Superior 1440p/4K gaming
RTX 5070	12GB	18GB	Improved 1440p performance
RTX 5060 Ti	8GB	12GB	Better 1080p/1440p gaming
RTX 5060	8GB	12GB	Future-proof 1080p gaming

Why This Matters for Gamers

The transition to 3GB GDDR7 modules addresses a critical bottleneck in modern gaming. Today’s AAA titles increasingly demand more VRAM, especially at higher resolutions with ray tracing enabled. Games like Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty, and upcoming releases regularly exceed 8GB VRAM usage at 4K settings.

The RTX 5060’s potential upgrade from 8GB to 12GB represents the most significant improvement for mainstream gamers. This 50% increase would extend the card’s lifespan considerably, ensuring smooth performance in future titles.
