Yuzvendra Chahal’s Cryptic Instagram Story “Maa Kasam Khao” : A Dig at Dhanashree Verma?

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has sparked intense social media speculation after posting and quickly deleting a cryptic Instagram story that fans believe targets his ex-wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma. The now-deleted post featured the phrase “Maa Kasam Khao” (swear on your mother), igniting debates about the couple’s separation.

Yuzvendra Chahal-Dhanashree Split: Quick Overview

The Deleted Instagram Story Controversy

Yuzvendra Chahal’s brief Instagram story contained the Hindi phrase “Maa Kasam Khao,” which translates to “swear on your mother”—a culturally significant statement often used when questioning someone’s truthfulness. Within hours of posting, Chahal removed the story, but not before screenshots circulated across social media platforms.

Fans immediately connected the cryptic message to his separation from Dhanashree, with many interpreting it as the leg-spinner challenging his estranged wife’s version of events. According to ESPN Cricinfo, such public displays from athletes often reflect deeper personal struggles beyond what fans witness.

Timeline of Chahal-Dhanashree Relationship

The couple’s fairytale romance began during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Dhanashree, a prominent YouTube choreographer and dentist, caught Chahal’s attention through her dance videos. Their whirlwind romance and wedding became inspiration for many during pandemic isolation.

The honeymoon phase lasted through 2023, with both regularly posting couple content and supporting each other’s careers publicly. Dhanashree frequently attended Chahal’s matches, while he appeared in her dance videos.

Warning signs emerged in late 2024 when fans noticed decreased interaction between the two on social media. By January 2025, both had unfollowed each other on Instagram—a clear indicator of relationship breakdown in today’s digital age.

Why “Maa Kasam Khao” Matters

In Indian culture, invoking one’s mother while making statements carries immense weight. The phrase suggests Chahal believes misinformation or incomplete narratives surround their separation, prompting him to challenge others to prove their honesty.

While neither party has officially disclosed divorce reasons, this deleted story indicates tensions extend beyond simple “growing apart” scenarios often cited in celebrity breakups.

Impact on Chahal’s Cricket Career

Despite personal turmoil, Chahal continues performing for his IPL franchise and competing for national team selection. Professional athletes often compartmentalize personal struggles, though mental health experts emphasize the importance of proper support systems during major life transitions.

The leg-spinner’s recent performances haven’t shown significant decline, demonstrating his ability to maintain focus despite off-field distractions—a testament to his professionalism and mental resilience.

Dhanashree’s Side: Silent Yet Speaking

Dhanashree Verma has largely remained silent about separation details, choosing instead to focus on her choreography career and YouTube content. Her social media presence continues thriving with dance videos and brand collaborations, suggesting she’s moving forward professionally.

This silence contrasts with Chahal’s deleted story, potentially indicating different approaches to handling public scrutiny during private difficulties.

Social Media’s Role in Celebrity Breakups

Modern celebrity relationships unfold publicly through social media, making separations equally visible. Every post, story, and deletion becomes fodder for speculation, often complicating already difficult personal situations.

According to relationship experts, such public airing—intentional or accidental—rarely benefits either party long-term, despite providing temporary emotional release.

What’s Next for Both?

Legal proceedings reportedly continue privately while both focus on respective careers. Chahal remains concentrated on cricket with IPL 2025 approaching, while Dhanashree expands her dance academy and digital presence.

Time will reveal complete separation details, but for now, both deserve privacy navigating this challenging chapter despite their public profiles.
