A mother who never lost her honesty despite life’s hardest blows. A daughter whose love for her ran dry after years of quiet conflict. That’s the emotional core of “Nam Eun Jung,” and as of today, cameras are officially rolling.
Yum Jung Ah & Park Eun Bin: Cast Lineup Is Finally Here
Park Eun Bin, fresh off acclaimed hits like Extraordinary Attorney Woo, joins veteran actress Yum Jung Ah in a story built entirely on family tension and unspoken resentment. The production confirmed the full lineup on September 3, alongside news that filming has already begun.
| Actor | Character | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Yum Jung Ah | Kang Hyun Sook | Mother who raised three children through hardship, without losing her integrity |
| Park Eun Bin | Nam Eun Jung | Youngest daughter, emotionally exhausted after years of conflict with her mother |
| Wi Ha Joon | Park Sun Woo | Eun Jung’s supportive, ever-present boyfriend |
| Lee Ki Taek | Nam Eun Chul | Eldest sibling, a pastor and the family’s dependable pillar |
| Lee Min Ji | Nam Eun Mi | Second child, the peacekeeper between mother and youngest daughter |
What’s the Story About?
“Nam Eun Jung” (literal title) traces the fractured bond between Hyun Sook and her youngest daughter Eun Jung — two women who have never truly grown close, despite a lifetime under the same roof. It’s less about a single dramatic event and more about the slow accumulation of misunderstandings that quietly reshape a family over decades.
Adding to the buzz: the film marks director Kim Dong Hoon’s feature directorial debut, putting fresh eyes behind a story that leans heavily on emotional nuance rather than plot twists.
Why This Pairing Matters
Park Eun Bin has built a reputation for elevating emotionally complex roles, something she’s carried across recent Netflix hits — including her much-talked-about turn in The Wonder Fools, which showcased a very different side of her range. Pairing her with a veteran like Yum Jung Ah in a grounded family drama feels like a deliberate creative shift, and one Korean cinema fans will be watching closely.
With filming now underway, more casting details, stills, and release updates are expected in the coming months.
