TikTok may be the king of short-form videos, but YouTube appears to be dominating the market and making enough money from ads to pay its producers. The platform is currently making an effort to jump from the small screens of smartphones and tablets to your home theatre system and TV screens.

The company revealed recently that YouTube Shorts would be making its TV debut. You already know that YouTube Shorts are brief and that most of the videos are shot vertically if you’ve watched any of them. As you can expect, this presented YouTube with a significant challenge when they first tried to broadcast Shorts on television. It overcame these problems and created an experience that felt wonderful on the huge screen by listening to feedback.

The interface’s need to feel pleasant may be the experience’s most crucial component. So YouTube started from scratch and made a new one. It evaluated various variations and discovered that two, the minimal and the maximal, stood out. Users ultimately liked the user interface that offered a wide range of alternatives.

With this knowledge, YouTube produced an interface that is in the middle and announced that further functions would be added later.

In the upcoming weeks, TV models that were introduced in 2019 or later will start receiving YouTube Shorts for TV. This will also be accessible on more recent gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. You may always download the YouTube app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to have access on your phone or tablet if you don’t have a TV or gaming console that supports Shorts but is still curious about the hype.
