Google’s YouTube is always tweaking its website to reach more audiences and provide more insights into all of its videos, so, it has recently made a new tweak in its web version.
As you see, when you watch the video on a single-screen YouTube is trying to put as many suggestions as it possibly can and it’s also looking to promote Shorts on the web version. Already we have seen this on mobile, now, it seems like the same will be a new norm on desktop as well.
The new design on YouTube Web will promote Shorts even further
If you see closely, the suggestions are very personalised when you watch a video, you are shown the latest video from the channel you follow. Previously, the streaming giant had a full pane of such videos and some random suggestions as well, now, having just one main video, at the bottom you have a new Shorts pane that shows Shorts, 3 of them and is also scrollable.
This new design will increase the visibility of shorts and again give users the choice to watch new things even while they get bored watching a full-length video. This is a smart move and again a step to promote YouTube Shorts even further, slowly, this could be the new YouTube web design going forward in 2023.
