1. Pavithram Season 2
Originally a beloved television soap, Pavithram makes its OTT return with Season 2, directed by Sunil Kariattukara. The story follows Vedha, a woman rooted in traditional values, whose life shifts unexpectedly when circumstances push her into marrying Vikram, a man carrying his own troubled past. What unfolds is a slow-burn exploration of duty, personal identity, and redemption as Vedha navigates a marriage she never planned for while holding onto who she really is.
2. Maa Inti Bangaaram (Dub)
Directed by BV Nandini Reddy, this action-comedy-drama stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Swarna, a seemingly innocent newlywed trying to win over her skeptical in-laws — all while concealing a complicated past. When old troubles resurface, Swarna is forced to shield her new family from a dangerous set of adversaries, blending emotional family drama with high-stakes action. It streams from July 17.
3. Chithini
A chilling entry for horror fans, Chithini, directed by East Coast Vijayan, centers on the brutal murder of a pregnant woman whose spirit returns as the legendary “Chithini” — a vengeful presence seeking justice against those responsible. Expect atmospheric dread rooted in regional folklore rather than jump-scare gimmicks.
4. Revolver Rinko
For lighter, feel-good viewing, Revolver Rinko follows a group of small-town youngsters near Kozhikode who set out to make their own low-budget superhero film. Directed by Kiran Narayanan and led by Vishnu Unnikrishnan, the film captures the chaotic, heartfelt journey of independent filmmaking with plenty of humor along the way.
Malayalam cinema continues to carve its own space within India’s broader regional film industries, known for grounded storytelling across genres — and this week’s slate reflects exactly that range.
