Xbox Series X|S HDR is Going to Feature Full Dolby Vision Support

As it’s important to have higher resolution and better performance, it also needs to give attention to the next-gen importance of HDR. It is true that a good & high-dynamic-range capable screen can make a game very fine. Coming to the point, Microsoft will boost the HDR capabilities with the Dolby Vision support on Xbox Series X|S.

Larry Hryb posted on Twitter by writing, “Get ready to transform your gaming experience with full-spectrum visuals! Rolling out to Xbox Insiders this week: Dolby Vision for gaming on Xbox X|S.”

Basically, Dolby Vision is an HDR format that is able to provide several exclusive features, specifically dynamic metadata, which can adjust the HDR contrast and brightness on a frame-by-frame, or even scene-by-scene basis. Below, here is the official briefing from Dolby…

• Deeper connection to the story – Feel the story’s full emotional impact, bringing your entertainment to life with an ultravivid picture, brighter highlights, and darker shadows.
• Stunning picture quality – Experience a remarkable color palette, sharper contrasts, and incredible brightness that feel more like looking through a window than at a screen. This is HDR like you’ve never seen it before.
• See every detail – Discover subtle details you simply can’t see with a standard picture, for a viewing experience without compromise, just as the filmmakers and creators intended.

Only a few TV brands like LG, Sony, and TCL support the Dolby Vision right now. As per Nelson’s tweet, Dolby Vision is now only available to the Xbox insiders, and, as per some of the insiders, there is a checkmark for Dolby Vision at 4K &120fps. But the current scenario tells that there are no TVs that support all three of those things at once. Meanwhile, LG might bring the option to its latest OLED screens very soon.
