WOODZ (Cho Seung Youn) has officially joined the cast of the upcoming film “Nambeol” (romanized title), production company Hive Media Corp confirmed on July 22. Set in the early Joseon dynasty, the hard-boiled martial arts action film follows nine warriors of varying skill and social rank as they journey to Tsushima Island to rescue captives abducted by Japanese pirates.
WOODZ : Meet the Cast
WOODZ takes on the role of Cheot Nom, a skilled archer with exceptional marksmanship who joins a dangerous extermination campaign to provide for the family he left behind. Driven by duty and conviction, Cheot Nom is determined to protect both his loved ones and his fellow warriors — marking WOODZ’s expansion from music into acting.
He joins an already stacked lineup: Lee Byung Hun stars as Im Eok, the leader of the warrior group, while Go Youn Jung plays the strong-willed, independent Ae Ryeong. Lee Do Hyun rounds out the main cast as Bo Gyeong, a warrior leading the punitive force at the story’s center.
Why This Casting Matters
The production team highlighted WOODZ’s fresh energy and compelling screen presence as a strong addition to the ensemble. With three heavyweight names already attached, his casting adds a new dynamic to a film built around loyalty, sacrifice, and survival in a brutal historical setting.
