From Small Roles to a Breakout Villain
Puran Gabbi’s early credits were modest — a minor part in Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, followed by a small role in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020). His real turning point came with Black Warrant, the Netflix crime series based on the non-fiction book about Tihar Jail, where he played Ranga.
Now, in Awarapan 2, he plays Zorawar, the underworld rival Shivam Pandit (Emraan Hashmi) must outmaneuver in Bangkok while trying to rescue a kidnapped girl. Zorawar’s sister Zara, played by Disha Patani, adds another layer to the story’s tangled loyalties.
Off-screen, Puran is also carving out a music career, releasing his debut single under his own name in late 2025.
His sister Wamiqa shared an emotional note after the trailer dropped, saying he’d earned the role purely through auditions and persistence — no shortcuts.
