Who Is Aaliyah Qureishi? The Multi-Talented Star Linked to Vijay Varma Who’s More Than Just a Rumour

Bollywood loves a mystery, and right now, Vijay Varma is at the centre of one. The Matka King actor was recently spotted exiting a popular Mumbai restaurant with a woman, and the two left together in the same car — completely dodging the paparazzi. The internet went into full detective mode, and the name that emerged was Aaliyah Qureishi. But who exactly is she? Turns out, she’s far more accomplished than most people realise.

Aaliyah Qureishi — Overview

From Singer to Bollywood — Aaliyah’s Journey So Far

Long before she stepped onto the silver screen, Aaliyah Qureishi was making waves as an indie singer and songwriter. Her music gravitates toward Indie Rock and Pop, with tracks like Pretty, I Want to Be Free, and Don’t Come Back reflecting a raw, personal songwriting voice that sets her apart from the typical Bollywood pipeline.

Her acting career began with Bandish Bandits Season 2, the acclaimed musical romantic drama where she played the character Jhalli — a role she owned so completely that her alter ego ‘Jhalliverse’ became her entire social media identity. She also composed the track You and I for the show, blending her dual creative talents effortlessly.

Her Bollywood film debut came in 2023 with one of the biggest blockbusters of the year — Jawan, director Atlee’s action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan. She played the role of Janvi in the film that went on to become a massive commercial success. She has since appeared in Naadaniyan alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, and featured in Eternally Confused and Eager for Love with Vihaan Samat.

The Indian film industry has a long history of discovering multi-hyphenate talents, and Aaliyah — a singer-songwriter-actress hybrid — fits that evolving mould perfectly.

The Vijay Varma Connection — What We Know

Vijay Varma’s romantic life has been under the spotlight since his breakup with Tamannaah Bhatia, after the two were one of Bollywood’s most-loved couples for a while. On Valentine’s Day 2026, Vijay posted a mysterious photo of a couple holding hands, immediately sparking curiosity about who the woman was.

When he was spotted leaving a Mumbai eatery with Aaliyah — the two departing together in the same car without stopping for photos — social media connected the dots. Neither Vijay Varma nor Aaliyah Qureishi has commented on or confirmed the relationship so far, leaving it firmly in rumour territory for now.
