The WhatsApp Pink scam is spreading rapidly, presenting a significant danger to users. However, what exactly does this scam entail, and how can you safeguard yourself? Here is a detailed explanation.

WhatsApp Pink

All About the WhatsApp Pink

A large number of people are receiving messages that offer an update called ‘WhatsApp Pink.’ Essentially, this is a fake version of the popular messaging app that falsely claims to provide improved features. These messages attract WhatsApp users by urging them to click on a provided link and download the associated app. Unfortunately, by doing so, scammers gain access to the user’s phone data, enabling them to steal it.

The stolen data may contain sensitive information such as bank details, contact numbers, and photos, and it can also lead to spam attacks. The increase in these spam messages has prompted the Mumbai Police to issue a warning, alerting people about this scam. In an effort to make it easier for the public to understand, the Mumbai Police clarified that scammers begin the scam by sending a deceptive link that appears to be an authentic update to the user.
