What a Boss Wants: Oh Se Young Leads a Double Life as an Office Worker and Indie Singer

Everyone loves a secret identity, and this one comes with a microphone. The upcoming K-drama What a Boss Wants has shared new stills of Oh Se Young juggling two very different lives: a struggling job seeker by day and a fiery indie band singer by night. With a chaebol boss in the mix, things are about to get complicated.

What a Boss Wants: The Drama

A Boss With No Taste and a Voice He Can’t Forget

The story follows Kwon Do Hyuk (Sung Hoon), a chaebol boss with zero sense of taste. After hearing a woman’s voice on an album, he sets out to find her. That woman is Lee Eun Chae (Oh Se Young), the lead vocalist of an indie band, and she becomes the only variable in his otherwise perfect life.

Meet Lee Eun Chae, the Relentless Optimist

Oh Se Young plays a job seeker who dreams of becoming a singer. Despite her struggles, she stays relentlessly optimistic and finds joy in small moments. There’s just one problem: her family doesn’t know the truth. She secretly performs as “Soo,” the vocalist of the indie band India Red, while pretending she has already landed a job.

Even while struggling to get by, she holds on to a simple dream, which is to one day hear someone sing along to one of her songs. It’s a sweet, relatable wish that makes her easy to root for.

Two Lives in Two Outfits

The new stills show the contrast beautifully. In one set, she puts her difficult reality aside before a performance. Dressed in a striking red dress and holding a microphone, she commands the stage with a completely different energy, showing she shines brightest when she sings.

In other stills, she wears an employee ID badge at work, and her expressions hint at the chaotic office life ahead. It also raises a fun question: how does she end up working at Oh Yes Entertainment, Kwon Do Hyuk’s company?

What the Production Team Teases?

The team says viewers can look forward to seeing how long Eun Chae can keep her precarious double life a secret from her family. They also promise that her everyday life takes a new turn after she meets Do Hyuk, and that Oh Se Young will bring energy through her bold and spirited character.
