Forget discovering raw beginners — this new K-pop audition show is doing something far more interesting. The Scout is giving already-debuted artists a second shot at the spotlight, and the masters lined up to guide them are absolutely elite.

What Is The Scout: Stars Reborn?

The Scout is a growth-focused music audition program in which top industry experts personally discover “hidden gems” — artists who have already debuted but have yet to fully showcase their potential — and guide them toward new opportunities.

It’s a refreshing twist on the traditional audition format. Rather than hunting for trainees, these masters are rescuing overlooked talent that the industry left behind.

Meet the Masters

ENA announced the show’s masters as Lee Seung Chul, Kim Jae Joong, Red Velvet’s Wendy, DAY6’s Young K, and Choo Sung Hoon — a lineup that highlights a wide range of musical backgrounds.

Master	Known For
Lee Seung Chul	Legendary ballad icon; show’s central anchor
Kim Jae Joong	Former TVXQ member; solo artist & actor
Wendy	Red Velvet main vocalist
Young K	DAY6 member; singer-songwriter
Choo Sung Hoon	TV personality & entertainer

In the teaser, Lee Seung Chul explains: “There are many people who debuted but weren’t able to find success and became discouraged. The goal is to bring them back and ‘reboot’ them through music.”

That mission statement alone is enough to make this one of the most emotionally compelling K-pop shows in years.

The Teaser & What to Expect

The teaser carries the message, “A story of rising stars created by established stars,” and introduces 16 contestants selected through closed auditions. After Lee Seung Chul announces their selection, Kim Jae Joong, Wendy, Young K, and Choo Sung Hoon appear one by one — signalling the official start of the journey.

The Scout is set to premiere on May 8 at 8 p.m. KST on ENA.
