Welcome To The Jungle Is Cruising Toward The Rs 100 Crore Club

Wednesday blues hit differently at the box office. Akshay Kumar’s comedy drama Welcome To The Jungle collected Rs. 6 crore on its first Wednesday, registering a steep 35% drop from Tuesday’s numbers. Even so, the film’s overall journey remains firmly on track, with its six-day total now standing at Rs. 87 crore nett in India.

Welcome To The Jungle: Day-Wise Collection Breakdown

Was Wednesday’s Drop A Red Flag?

A dip after the weekend is expected for any commercial release, but a 35% fall is admittedly on the steeper side. Trade watchers had hoped for something closer to Rs. 7 crore to keep momentum smoother. Still, this isn’t a dealbreaker as long as the film holds steady over the next two days. Current trends suggest the movie should wrap its first week somewhere around Rs. 95 crore, putting it within touching distance of the coveted Rs. 100 crore mark.

Success Is Certain, But Is It A Hit?

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome To The Jungle appears set to be labeled a box office success. Whether it climbs further into “HIT” territory depends heavily on how the second and third weeks perform — especially week three, when it collides with Dhamaal 4, another established comedy franchise entering theatres.

For context, Akshay’s previous release Bhooth Bangla added Rs. 49 crore nett in its second week alone. If Welcome To The Jungle manages anything close to that benchmark, a HIT tag looks very achievable.

Why Comedy Dramas Keep Working For Akshay

Akshay Kumar has built a significant part of his career around the comedy genre, a format that continues drawing steady festive and weekday audiences across India. The broader appeal of comedy film as a genre lies in its rewatch value and family-friendly accessibility — qualities that consistently help such films sustain longer theatrical runs even after a rocky start to the week.

With Dhamaal 4 waiting in the wings and Bhooth Bangla’s second-week numbers as a benchmark, the coming days will determine just how far Welcome To The Jungle can stretch its theatrical legs.
